Home electrical services

Everything your home’s electrical system needs

Our biggest residential projects are whole-home generators and service and panel upgrades — but we handle all types of home electrical work.

Troubleshooting & repairs

Dead outlets, flickering lights, tripping breakers, warm switches, buzzing or burning smells — we find the cause and fix it safely.

Lighting

Recessed and LED lighting, under-cabinet lights, fixture replacement, exterior and security lighting, landscape lighting and dimmers.

Remodels, additions & basements

Wiring for kitchens, baths, finished basements and additions, planned around code requirements and how you actually use the space.

EV charger installation

Level 2 home charging with a dedicated 240V circuit, panel capacity check and a clean installation in the garage or driveway.

Outlets, circuits & dedicated lines

New outlets, GFCI and AFCI protection, USB outlets, and dedicated circuits for appliances, home offices, workshops and garages.

Surge protection

Whole-home surge protection at the panel to help protect HVAC equipment, appliances and electronics.

Ceiling fans & fixtures

Ceiling fan installs on properly rated boxes, fixture swaps and switch upgrades, including smart switches.

Safety updates & rewiring

Hardwired smoke and CO alarms, grounding updates, replacing ungrounded or deteriorated wiring, and fixes for home-inspection findings.

Hot tubs, pools & outdoor power

Dedicated circuits and disconnects for hot tubs, outdoor outlets, patio and deck power, and detached garages.

When to call an electrician

Some electrical problems are an inconvenience; others are warning signs. Call a licensed electrician right away if you notice:

  • Burning smells, scorch marks or warm outlets and switch plates
  • Breakers that trip repeatedly or fuses that keep blowing
  • Flickering or dimming lights that aren’t a bulb problem
  • Buzzing or crackling from outlets, switches or the panel
  • Outlets that are loose, cracked or stopped working
  • Mild shocks from appliances, fixtures or switches

If you smell burning or see smoke, turn off the affected circuit if it is safe to do so and call for help.

EV chargers: plan for capacity

A Level 2 EV charger is one of the largest continuous loads in a home. Before installing one we check whether your panel and service can carry it alongside your HVAC, range and dryer. Many homes can add a charger with a dedicated circuit; others benefit from a service upgrade or a load-management device. Either way, you’ll know before we start.

Homes we work on

We work on everything from early-1900s homes in Cincinnati and Dayton to mid-century ranches in Kettering and newer construction in Mason, Springboro and West Chester.

FAQ

Residential electrical FAQ

Do you handle smaller electrical jobs too?

Yes. Along with generators and panel upgrades, we handle everyday residential work such as adding outlets, replacing switches and fixtures, installing ceiling fans and fixing circuits that stopped working.

Can you install a Level 2 EV charger at my house?

Yes. A Level 2 charger needs a dedicated 240-volt circuit sized for the charger. We check your panel capacity first; if your service is already close to its limit we'll explain options, from load management to a service upgrade.

My breaker keeps tripping. What should I do?

A breaker that trips repeatedly is doing its job — protecting the circuit from an overload, short or ground fault. Don't keep resetting it or replace it with a larger breaker. Unplug what's on the circuit and call us so we can find the cause.

Can you work with my contractor on a remodel?

Yes. We can work alongside your general contractor or directly with you on kitchens, bathrooms, basements and additions — planning circuits, lighting and code-required protection before the walls close up.
